I selfhosted it few months ago and later gave up for some reason.

Two of the more obvious ones for me (things like data ownership or independence aside): - once in a while some Bluesky PDSes fail (e.g. last night one of them did), and then everything still works for me - since my PDS is closer geographically to me now, things generally load faster than before

if you wanna post anti-liberal opinions, like " #LGBT should be banned", which can potentially be censored by #Bluesky, self hosting can be beneficial. Other than that I see know reason
