How come the "my network" feed and the "global fediverse" feed looks exactly the same?

#friendica #fediverse
Are you the only person on the server?

Or are there others there, too?
@@reiver ⊼ (Charles) :batman: I'm the only one on my server, so the "local fediverse" feed is just my own posts.

"My network" is all the people I follow, which seems logical.

But - and here's where I may be mistaken - I had gotten the idea that "global fediverse" meant the feeds from all the servers where I follow someone? But as far as I can tell, it's the same as "my network": just the people I follow...
The "global fediverse" feed would contain any posts from the Fediverse that your server sees.

But, if you are the only one there, then — the only posts your server would see would be from people you follow (plus posts they boost).

...

So, "my network" and "global fediverse" being the same on a server where you are the only person makes sense.

...
You can make your server see posts from people you do not follow by adding a Relay.

The Relay should bring in posts, to you server, from lots of people you don't follow.

Which should show up in your "global fediverse" feed.

But, note — this will increase your storage drive usage.

And, you may need to clear your cache from time to time.
Ah! Thanks for clearing this up for me. 🙂
